As you can see from the date, this logo is very old as of this writing, but I still really dig it. I just love the playfulness of it, the colors…the fact that there’s a giant ostrich egg running around with shoes on, balloons and music – it’s everything I think a festival should be. This was actually a submission in a logo contest which was apparently judged by a committee. I was in the top 2 picks, and the logo they finally did pick left me puzzled. Now, I’m obviously a little biased, but in my humble opinion, the logo they did choose never should have won. I think they got hung up on the fact that there wasn’t an actual ostrich head in my design, and I was quite aware of that, but considering the word OSTRICH was quite prominent, I think people would’ve gotten the gist.
